7. I had organized a table layout to represent, but not reenact, one of the beaches from the Normandy landings and the town and fields beyond. The Americans had a large number of extra troops to storm the beaches with, which the Germans had to try and hold for as long as possible. Behind lines, paratroopers of the 101st had dropped in and were tasked with destroying a Flak 88 gun that was capable of shelling the units on the beach. It was an overall German victory as the Allies failed to push beyond the wall at the beach and take the town. The 101st also failed to take out the 88, losing their lives in the struggle. Overall, everyone enjoyed the event and the game and looked forward to another one in the near future.
8. There were quite a few Magic players in the store who came by and took a peek. A resident board game guru was demonstrating a D-Day scenario for Memoir '44 for those who appreciated more of a board game approach.
9. Pictures are just posted to the FB Group's Timeline.
